2008 Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix

First ever night race! I think it's kinda cool that the F1 race is in Singapore.. Although i'm not a huge fan or whatsoever, it's still kinda special to have such an event here i suppose.. I do know of some facts about this historic race thou like 61 rounds to complete the race and 300km/hr is the average maximum speed or something like that.. 1 min 30 secs is the estimated lap time.. Too bad I don't have tickets for this but I'm not grumbling hahaha.. I don't really like the screeching noise that such cars make anyway.. I'm rooting for Massa to win although I think Hamilton may win this..

Half of the time there was spent at the arcade and here we have Erwin flying his fighter plane.. phew phew..

like pikachu's thundershock..

Today has been one of the most shocking day of my academic life so far.. we start from the start of the day:

  • Passing paper 1 of accounts without completing the freaking paper! Amazing..
  • Clearing GP! yay! I'm not too shock for this one but still pretty taken aback..
  • Finding out that Clay Aiken's gay! OMG! I thought he had a baby or something..

and this is going to be the most shocking news ever: I'm freaking valedictorian! OMG!!! hahaha.. No other gag can ever replace this joke.. so go ahead, laugh at me cause i'm laughing with you.. I don't think my studies and results are like fantastic or even ideal so this title is pretty over-rated for me.. true that the idea's kinda cool since it's gonna enhance my university entry chances but i don't really wanna deprieve another better student of getting this honour, it's like stealing..

According to dictionary.com:

Valedictorian:–noun
a student, usually the one ranking highest academically in a school graduating class, who delivers the valedictory at the commencement exercises.

!!!!! HOW?!? WHY?!? WHAT?!? o god.. Some people are probably gonna bitch about me now but go ahead, I'm expecting it anyway.. Just hope that my closer friends will be more supportive and appreciative.. but it's probably not gonna happen..

Sports for Singapore

The world seems to be crumbling.. First it was Bearsterns and now we have Lehman.. and now we're hearing news about AIG doing badly or something.. What's going on?!? Are we all going to die soon?

Kudos to our 2 paralympians for winning medals! Actually, the results that our paralympians produced can also be produced by the ordinary Olympians, or Singapore sportsmen as a whole for that matter.. It's just that in Singapore, the common believe is that we cannot do well in sports and many do not see a need to pursue sports for Singapore. In actual fact, I do believe that there's much more potential lying in Singapore but it's this stupid belief that has hindered progress for the nation. Adults and parents are always stereotyping Singapore as 'a lousy sporting nation' and telling the next generation that it doesn't pay to be a sportsman. This misconception gets passed on and on and on and that's probably why we always have to depend only on the few plucky individuals who are courageous and perhaps lucky enough to fly the Singapore flag high.

What many love to blame:
  1. Population. Jamaica has a population of 2,804,332 and we have like 4,588,600 (according to wiki). Population Problem? I don't think so..
  2. Genes. Many claim that Asians are weaker thus generally weaker because we have inferior genes and blah blah blah.. Bullshit! So why is it that Liu Xiang was able to win the 110m hurdles 4 years ago? In the very-super-distant-past Olympics, the Koreans and the Japanese have dominated the long distance events. Why is it that Asian countries can be in the top 10 medal tally with China leading this year?!?
  3. No future. If sports had no future in this world, why then did the world came upon the idea of honouring the best of athletes with the Olympics?

I can blabber on and on but I perhaps i shouldn't.. hahahaha.. These lousy ideas and stereotyped opinions that many many adults carry should be eradicated! In Germany, according to Daniel, if you get like all Bs for your school subjects but if you're really good in your sports, you get your grades pushed up to As.. Nice! Hopefully Singapore can implement that hahaahaha!

Prelims: Closure [Finally]

Yesterday was 中秋节.. Mid autumn festival.. It wasn't really significant this year plus I didn't celebrate it or whatsoever because of the prelims.. mum and dad kept me at home yesterday to study whist the rest of the familia went to Grandma's house.. boring.. Also went to celebrate another typical cousin's birthday party yesterday from noon..

It's the final week of the A level Prelims! :) 2 freaking write-a-lot subjects today for prelims! Management Paper 2 in the morning & Econs Paper 1 in the afternoon.. I wrote like 25 pages worth of answers in total and I really really hope they're not nonsense hahahhahah..And I even wrote till this freaking blister appeared after my management paper.. tomorrow's the last paper: accounts paper 2 :D I like accounts among all my subjects [surprisingly].. O well, after tomorrow, it's gonna be some fun before heading back to school for the final lessons before the As.. Choos :)

Baby Hope's 1st Birthday

Came onto this world as a premature 'super premature' Baby, this little princess has been through A LOT to be who she is today.. Grow up big and strong! :D

Baby Hope

It was obviously a babies/toddlers/children party so there were like many of them running around:

kinda hard to get their pictures but i tried:)

7 years on.. A tribute to September 11

September 11 2001 was a special day that proved to the world what retarded terrorism can do. It's been 7 years since that inhumane destruction by barbaric idiots who had nothing better to do. I'm a little late in my timing but let's pay a little tribute to those that lost their family, friends and even enemies.

Interestingly-uninteresting day

My MSN Messenger is not working right now, i can't sign in at all and i wonder why..

Anyway, WOO HOO!!!! Apple has finally launched it's latest ipod nanos!!!I want the Orange or/and Yellow one!! I've never been a fan of Apple's ipods because i've always thought that so many people has them and it's so boring to have one too.. but this time, it's freaking nice! I have to get one soon :)

Today was rather uninteresting besides the fact that Singapore won it's first Paralympic medal (By Laurentia Tan from Equestrian).. Woo hoo to her! Soon to come, I bet there's gonna be a huge debate comparing the 'weightage' of a paralympic medal as compared to an olympic medal.. My stand is that all medal winners should be given the same honour..

From the Tennis world, the US open is finally over and Roger Federer won the Men's Singles while Serena Williams took home the woman's trophy and also claimed the world's woman number 1 spot..cool.. i supported them since the start of the tournament and yay they won! hahaha..
Amazing Race Asia 3 starts tomorrow! arh, i can't wait! 9pm on AXN everyone don't forget to catch it! hahaahah..

Still in the midst of the prelim exams and i can't wait to get my ass to HK :)
Woo hoo! Don't be horny shali!
PS: Mister Jonnie and Shali, please go to HK too :D

Phobias

It's past midnight so the September School Holiday are officially O-V-E-R.. Stupidly I can't get to sleep, got a Paper at 2pm later and here I am not getting any proper rest.. I was asleep but woke up suddenly with a throbbing headache.. and the Movie: Camp Rock (watched it in the evening) kept flashing in my mind.. Weird.. Anyhow, stumbled upon lists of phobias and decided to share it here:)

i've got 3 sites here:
http://www.indianchild.com/phobias.htm (don't laugh at the url)
http://www.phobia-fear-release.com/phobia-list-2.html
http://www.phobialist.com/

Some interesting phobias that caught my attention:
  • Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia - Fear of long words. [Irony?]
  • Hypertrichophobia - Fear of hair. [How is this even possible? No hair? ]
  • Ithyphallophobia - Fear of seeing, thinking about, or having an erect penis.
  • Medorthophobia - Fear of an erect penis.[Just plain funny :D]
  • Geniophobia - Fear of chins. [Huh?]
  • Eleutherophobia - Fear of freedom.[WHAT?!?]
  • Caligynephobia - Fear of beautiful women. [ Erm, for jealous ladies against other ladies?]
  • Alliumphobia - Fear of garlic. [Totally for me :)]
  • Mnemophobia - Fear of memories. [Bad Memories i suppose]

The list goes on and on and on.. There're also like phobias over certain country/culture like fear of Germany,Japan,British etc.. weird weird world! hahaha!
